Forex signals vs Expert Advisors: what is the difference?

A forex signal describes a possible trade for a person to review. An Expert Advisor is software that can place or manage trades in MetaTrader according to its rules. AI chart analysis, signal delivery, and automated execution are separate capabilities; check which one a product actually provides.

What is an AI forex signal?

An AI forex signal is an analysis output, not proof that a trade will succeed. A useful explanation identifies the instrument, timeframe, observation time, possible entry, invalidation level, and assumptions. A trader still needs to compare those inputs with current market conditions and decide whether the idea is appropriate.

For chart-image analysis, record the screenshot time and symbol. An old chart or a cropped price axis can change the meaning of an answer. Ask what evidence supports the stated direction and what would invalidate it. If models disagree, examine the disagreement instead of treating a consensus label as a verified probability of profit.

What does an MT5 Expert Advisor do?

An Expert Advisor runs programmed rules inside the trading environment. Depending on the implementation, it may analyze prices, open positions, or manage existing trades. MetaQuotes describes these functions in its algorithmic trading documentation. The name “EA” alone does not establish what a particular program is allowed to do.

Before enabling one, read the exact version's documentation. Identify whether it starts its own trades or manages trades you open, which symbol and timeframe it supports, and whether it can increase position size. Establish how to disable new orders and how existing positions are handled when automation stops.

How do YoForex AI, Private EA, and Dynamic Hedger EA differ?

  • YoForex AI analysis tools organize chart analysis and model output for review in the dashboard. The demo illustrates the workflow; an example is not a verified trading track record.
  • Private EA is the MT5 product with documented XAUUSD and basket-management settings. Read the V1.1 and V3.16 comparison before assuming the versions behave identically.
  • Dynamic Hedger EA focuses on managing trades with its hedging workflow. A recovery mechanism can add exposure and costs; it cannot ensure that a losing position recovers.

Does the broker account matter?

Yes. MT5 supports different position-accounting systems. A netting account maintains one combined position per symbol, while a hedging account can hold separate positions, including opposing positions. A strategy that expects separate hedges must match the broker's account setup. See the official MT5 account concepts.

Also check the broker's instrument name, contract size, minimum lot, lot step, margin requirements, and trading permissions. An XAUUSD preset does not automatically suit every broker's gold symbol. Product availability and broker terms vary by country; access to a website does not establish eligibility to trade a particular instrument.

Can a phone run the EA?

For the YoForex MT5 setup described in our installation guide, the EA executes in the desktop or hosted terminal environment. A phone can be used for account monitoring and supported controls. Keep the execution environment running and connected; do not treat a mobile dashboard as evidence that the EA is running locally on the phone.

How should I choose what to evaluate?

Start with the task you want the software to perform: explain a chart, alert you to a setup, open trades, or manage an existing basket. Then check whether the documentation demonstrates that task and states its limits. Test the workflow in a demo environment before depending on it, and record your settings and observations.

Use our forex EA evaluation guide to examine evidence, drawdown, costs, and test conditions. If an installation does not behave as documented, use the troubleshooting guide and send support a redacted log. Never include passwords, API secrets, or private keys.
